Most websites track everything you do. They build profiles, sell your data, and participate in surveillance capitalism. I don't. Why? Because I am a privacy advocate who believes in FREEDOM. If I can't respect your privacy on my own website, why would you trust me with your privacy?
NO_COOKIES — I don't use cookies. Not even "necessary" ones. This site works fine without them.
NO_ANALYTICS — No Google Analytics. No Hotjar. No heatmaps. No A/B testing. I have no idea how you got here or what you click on.
NO_THIRD_PARTY_SCRIPTS — Everything runs locally. No external JavaScript. No tracking pixels. No social media widgets that phone home.
YOUR_EMAIL — If you email me at [email protected], I store your email and message so I can respond. I don't add you to any marketing or mailing lists and I don't share with anyone.
SERVER_LOGS — I use Cloudflare as my CDN/DNS provider. Cloudflare keeps basic access logs (IP address, timestamp, pages visited, user agent) for security and DDoS protection. These logs are automatically purged after 72 hours. I don't access or analyze these logs unless investigating a security incident. The actual site content is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may keep internal logs that I cannot control or access.
✗ Sell your data
✗ Share your data with advertisers
✗ Build behavioral profiles
✗ Track you across websites
✗ Retarget you with ads
✗ Any surveillance capitalism bullshit
I link to GitHub, Medium, X (Twitter), and other platforms. When you click those links, you're subject to their privacy policies, not mine. I cannot control what they do.
Under GDPR, CCPA, and basic human decency, you have rights:
RIGHT_TO_KNOW: Ask what data I have
RIGHT_TO_DELETE: Request deletion of your data
RIGHT_TO_PORTABILITY: Get a copy of your data
RIGHT_TO_OPT_OUT: You are already opted out by default
Email me: [email protected]
This site uses HTTPS (TLS 1.3). Your connection is encrypted. Your ISP can see you're visiting chrisvrakas.com but not which pages or what you're viewing.
For maximum privacy, I recommend considering the following options:
• Tor Browser
• VPN
• ProtonMail for encrypted email
I comply with:
• GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation)
• CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act)
• Common sense
I may be legally required to comply with valid requests from law enforcement or government agencies. However, I can't share what I do not have—and I intentionally collect nothing about you.
My infrastructure:
• Domain: GoDaddy (registrar only)
• DNS/CDN: Cloudflare (keeps logs for 72 hours)
• Hosting: GitHub Pages (I do not control their logs)
If you need maximum privacy, use Tor Browser or a VPN. I cannot see your real IP address if Cloudflare doesn't have it.
Privacy is fundamental right. It isn't about having anything to hide, it's about having everything to protect. You don't owe me your data just for visiting this website, and I do not need to know everything about you to build a relationship. If more websites respected privacy by default, the internet would be a better place.
