RELENTLESSLY CURIOUS :: LIFELONG LEARNER :: AMATEUR PHILOSOPHER :: ASPIRING POLYMATH
Let us DO away with this question as it assumes permanence in an ever-changing world, and pins your identity to a job instead of a job to your identity. I'm recklessly retired and unemployable by choice. Jack of all trades, master of many...
Known for taking an initiative to doubt the default and challenge the status quo, I am a relentlessly curious, lifelong learner, recurring early-adopter, and a rebellious independent thinker who has long embraced the powers of wide-ranging, interdisciplinary exploration — an autodidact of no fixed curriculum who refuses to conform to the limits of a label.
For as far back as I can remember, I've always had an innate desire to shape-shift through interests — jumping from one hobby to the next in quick succession. It's not that I have too few interests, but far too many gaps to bridge between seemingly unrelated domains.
Aside from a storied history in the music business, I am a technologist at heart, a Bitcoin and open-blockchain enthusiast, a hacker in the classical sense of the word, a philosopher, a writer, a graphic designer, full-stack developer, a fan of fashion, a careful observer of the political and economic landscapes, and a student of everything in-between.
In our rapidly changing, technology-driven world, traditional industry lines are beginning to blur - becoming increasingly interconnected and ever-more complex. By continuing to unlock the powers of human versatility, I aspire to reorient the public narrative and steer progress in a positive and forward-thinking direction.
Previously, I spent 30+ years in the music business as a well-established veteran on nearly all fronts — a touring DJ / Producer, Talent Buyer, Concert & Festival Promoter, Event Coordinator, Nightlife Consultant, Artist Manager, and owner of 2 Milwaukee nightlife establishments — Oak Lounge & Site1a.
Much of my early career was spent as a touring DJ where I clocked in over 300 gigs per year and produced a variety of one-off club nights across the state of Wisconsin; eventually leading to a partnership with one of the country's largest event production companies, React Presents.
As the point-man and partner for the state of Wisconsin, I went on to produce over 700 hard-ticket concert events and festivals ranging in size and scope from smaller 300-capacity theater shows to arenas and large-scale festivals where attendance numbers often reached in the tens of thousands.
As owner of two Milwaukee-based nightclubs, Oak Lounge and SITE1A I proved that world-class nightlife could not only be possible in a small Midwestern market, but could also co-exist alongside some of the biggest nightclub institutions in America. Often booking headliners in front of major markets like NYC, Vegas, Miami, and Chicago.
Despite a humbling 250-person capacity, SITE1A hosted the likes of Kaskade, The Chainsmokers, Zeds Dead, Paul Oakenfold, and hundreds of other world-renowned DJs. If you've attended an electronic dance music event in the Midwest, visited a prominent club night, or bought a ticket to attend a DJ-driven festival in the 20+ years, I was likely involved in some way, shape or form.
In May of 2019, I sold Site1a and took a step back from the music business to rebalance my interests, flip the script, and start authoring a new journey forward. I have spent nearly 10 years in the cryptocurrency space — diving down the proverbial crypto rabbit hole, as a staunch supporter and advocate of cypherpunk culture, privacy, cryptography, OPSEC, and FREEDOM 👊🏻
